Our review of CV Travel 

CV Travel was created in 1972, early on in the vogue for villa holidays abroad, and so the company has exceptionally long experience in finding and renting holiday homes. It all started with a handful of private homes in Corfu (hence the name CV, which is short for Corfu Villas) but steadily the portfolio spread to the other Ionian islands, then to other parts of Europe and eventually around the world. Now CV Travel can find you a superb house in a fine spread of destinations – from a tiny Greek hideaway or a finca in Ibiza to a manor house in the Cotswolds. Even an entire hamlet in Umbria.

Of course CV’s programme has developed with the changes in travel – new destinations opened up as home-owners decided to build in different countries around the world. CV has houses in a dozen Caribbean islands and in Thailand and Morocco. In Europe they cover Italy, France, Portugal and Great Britain and Ireland. However, after 40 years they remain loyal to their original home, the Ionian islands (and Corfu particularly) which still rest at the heart of their programme. 

CV Travel’s portfolio has also moved with the times in terms of traveller needs and expectations. As a luxury villa company they make sure to find top notch houses with distinctive style – and they have on call pretty much anything that is available in the country or region concerned. This will include highchairs and babysitting in most places, and equally a villa might have staff and a chef, while in other destinations there will be spa services and boat hire. In certain countries they would be happy to organise a wedding. 

CV Travel is an independent brand within Kuoni and they have a chalet arm called Ski Verbier & Ski Chamonix which handles chalets in Verbier and Chamonix. And CV Travel also has some particularly original offerings. How about a villa just for two – perhaps a tiny beach cottage in the Caribbean or a turreted tower on the Amalfi coast?
